La sieste
This work was born in the context of a residency in which I participated, spending time in the rooms of the Cassero of the Poggio Imperiale Fortress, Poggibonsi, FI. Italy
Five photographic self-portraits as a trace of a small daily ritual, a moment of reflection, in the break granted each day of my residence, five in all, to absorb and be absorbed by the place itself. The photos, of which the background has been removed with a white crayon, isolate the subject in space, taking it as if to levitate in the air, in a sort of annihilation of physical and mental barriers, a journey into the unconscious.
The pins in the shape of scissors refer to the title of the exhibition Autos (himself) Opsis (the view), the Greek root of the word autopsy.
