Created for the exhibition Retour au monde at the MOGA restaurant in Marseille, based on an idea by Alessandro Gallicchio, this work of incisions on bottle saucers uses a recurring graphic vocabulary in my work.
The idea of sharing, conviviality and synergy that we seek when we meet in a restaurant is suggested by lines that converge towards or connect mouths together. The symbolic representation of one of our most ancient daily rituals, eating, is accompanied by other drawings that ironically represent, in single file, the location of the opposite orifice through which the food passes. The idea that "what we take from the earth, we must give back to the earth", reminds us of the significance of our most primitive actions, with the intention of helping us to build a better future.
