Typical Masculine Action
Embroidery on fabric, 300 x 30 x 5 cm, 2004.
Typical masculine action is a work born after one of my long periods spent in countryside, where the abandonment of certain aspects of my female character has gradually been imposed. So I decided to stigmatize this experience by embroidering some male stereotypes privately and in public (during a performance (2)). The work is subtitled ‘realized during 21 days when I wanted to be a man’, a playful allusion to my identity and genre exploration developed intimately during this phase. Strangely this is a work particularly most appreciated by men.
