Happy hours

Photography on polycarbonate, wood. 250 x 100 cm. 2004.

One day, preparing an appetizer for friends, I remained fascinated by the beauty of the swimming capres in brine, then opening a jar of small onions everything seemed to me clear, the appetizer’s hour had crossed in a moment of creation. My capris and my onions became actors of the fertilization whereas the brine simulated the primordial liquid. A friend carpenter then built at my request a foldable triptych, inspired by ancient painted compositions for the catholic cult, valuing the figure of Christ and his apostles. Not being catholic but loving appetizers I titled this work "Happy Hours”.
